Foundational Skills

Human development is a complex process and all aspects of day to day functioning, socialisation, well-being, learning, and academic performance are reliant on a secure foundation.  In order to progress through the stages of life from birth to infancy, childhood, and adolescence to adulthood,  we rely on our foundational systems to support us.

Sometimes, foundational skills may be delayed, through genetic or environmental reasons.  This is known as developmental delay or can be classified as a disorder.

Our multidisciplinary team is expert at identifying and treating where a child or young person’s foundational skills may be delayed through targeted therapy, supporting these foundational limitations and enhancing their functional abilities.
